The Karnataka government recognized the need to enhance citizen engagement and transparency through a revamped interface for the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). The goal was to simplify interactions between citizens and the government, showcasing ongoing projects and improving service delivery. Codewave was tasked with developing a unified citizen connect platform to streamline access to government services and foster a more responsive relationship with the public.
The existing BBMP citizen interface was cumbersome and inefficient, making it difficult for citizens to access important services and information. There was a pressing need to overhaul the system to enhance accessibility, efficiency, and user-friendliness. The platform had to ensure that citizens could easily navigate and interact with government services while promoting transparency in government operations.
Codewave developed a comprehensive citizen connect platform that serves the residents of Bengaluru by offering various government services, including Building Planning, Property Tax Management, Birth and Death Record Management, and Grievance Redressal. Key features of the solution included:
Unified Access to Services: The platform provides a single access point for citizens to interact with multiple government services, simplifying the user experience and reducing the need for multiple applications.
Persona-Based Approach: The design employed a persona-based approach, allowing both citizens and BBMP officials to access tailored interfaces suited to their specific roles. This ensured that users engaged only with relevant information and tools.
Enhanced Transparency: The redesigned interface allows citizens to view ongoing government projects and services, fostering transparency and building trust in government operations.
User-Friendly UX/UI Design: The platform's interface was crafted to be intuitive and easy to navigate, ensuring that users can quickly find the information and services they need.
Role-Based Access Control (RBAC): Implementing RBAC allowed for secure access management, ensuring that users have appropriate access to the information and functionalities relevant to their roles.
Improved Citizen Engagement: The unified platform enhanced citizen engagement by providing a straightforward and accessible means to interact with government services.
Greater Transparency: By allowing citizens to track ongoing projects and services, the platform promoted a culture of openness and responsiveness within the government.
Increased Efficiency: The persona-based design streamlined user interactions, making it easier for citizens to find relevant information and for officials to manage services effectively.
Enhanced Trust in Government: The focus on transparency and improved service delivery helped build greater trust between citizens and the government.
Scalable Framework: The platform's architecture allows for future enhancements and the addition of new services, ensuring it can evolve with the needs of the community.
Through the development of the citizen connect platform, Codewave successfully created a tool that empowers Bengaluru citizens by improving access to government services, enhancing transparency, and fostering a more engaged and informed public.
