Your iPhone can now sense when you might be driving and help keep you from being distracted by calls, text messages and notifications. People trying to message you can automatically be notified that you’re driving. That’s cool.

Whatever it may be, Apple will concentrate on the performance that makes the backbone of any smartphone. Let’s have a look at the features that Apple has promised to bring in the upcoming OS.

FaceTime: With iOS 12, FaceTime now supports video and audio with up to 32 people at once. To help you to stay in the conversation all through the while, the screen of the person speaking will get larger automatically. You can start Group FaceTime directly from a group thread in Messages or join an active one at any time.

Camera Effects: Camera effects can never be sidelined as people are into photography more than ever. With iOS, you can add personality to Messages and FaceTime directly from the in-app camera. Moreover, you can create and share a photo or video with Animoji, Memoji, cool filters, animated text effects, fun stickers and more.

Augmented Reality: ARKit 2 makes it possible for developers to create more immersive augmented reality experiences, even ones that multiple people can experience simultaneously. AR objects can now be sent with Messages and Mail, then viewed in the real world. And a new AR app in iOS called Measure helps you measure real-world objects just by pointing your camera at them.

Screen Time: I was missing a feature that would let us know about the time we are spending on our devices and Apple rightly tapped on it. Screen Time is a new feature that helps give you a better understanding of the time you and your kids spend using apps, visiting websites on your devices overall. So, you can make the most of how you choose to spend time on your iPhone or iPad.

Notifications: On an average, a user has five to ten apps on the device. If someone asks me about the same, my answer will be 15 (that’s more than an average user). The apps on the device are directly proportional to the number of notifications we receive on our device (apart from the one that we receives from our network operator). Therefore, keeping in mind, Apple refined the notification feature that will help the user to manage the notifications in a better way. The user can manage all the notifications from the Lock screen itself and can stay away from constant buzzing.

Do Not Disturb: iOS 12 brings you a smart “Do Not Disturb” mode. If you don’t want to get distracted by unwanted alerts, messages or calls during a particular time, set on this feature and the feature will automatically turn on as soon as your event starts or you enter that place.

Photo Sharing: This feature will change the way you browse your photo library. The newly added “For You” tab depicts great insights of the library and suggests sharing photos with the people in them. And if the recipients are using iOS 12, they’ll be prompted to share their photos from the event with you too.

Photo Search: Search suggestions are a new way to help you find the exact photo you’re looking for, or rediscover a great one you forgot about. Even before you start typing, you’ll see suggestions for recent events, people and places. And as you type, the results are smarter and more powerful, and you can refine them by adding multiple keywords.

Siri Shortcuts: Siri can now intelligently pair your daily routines with third-party apps to suggest convenient shortcuts exactly when you need them. If you pick up a newspaper on way to your office, Siri will add it to your routine and suggest you pick it up at the same time next day. You can also run shortcuts with your voice or create your own with the new Shortcuts app.

Privacy: The brightest spot in iOS 12 will be the privacy. In the recent while, many instances occurred where user privacy went up for a toss and due to the same reason, people have become better apprised about the user’s policy and how the data is going to be shared. Therefore, apart from offering standard security measures, iOS 12 brings with built-in encryption, on-device intelligence, and other tools that let you share what you want on your terms. Also, Safari now prevents Share buttons and comment widgets on web pages from tracking you without your permission.
