A full-time registered nurse in New York City started her dream business, Whiskey Kiss, during the COVID quarantine. She created a personal brand featuring a collection of pre-owned clothing and accessories, handpicked to reflect her unique style. She later expanded with the Luxury Therapist line, offering resale luxury goods and promoting sustainability by using overstock items from European designers.
As her inventory grew to thousands of items, she needed automation tools to list them on marketplaces but faced budget constraints. Freelance developers built an app to automate postings on Poshmark and began a similar tool for Grailed, but left the project unfinished. Vendors claimed the app needed a complete rewrite due to an unsuitable tech stack.
Out of budget and time, she asked Cyfrania to make the existing app functional despite its limitations.
We found the app used Google Apps Script and Google Sheets, causing slow processing times. Despite its flaws, the customer wanted it operational to generate income. One developer fixed integration issues and added an admin panel and discount feature in two weeks.
To resolve ongoing issues, we proposed modernizing the app with a full-featured database and new technologies. The developer completed this in one week, using PostgreSQL, Node.js, and Nest.js. The upgraded app was launched, tested, and fine-tuned.
The customer successfully recovered an app with serious tech issues, turning it into a revenue-generating tool. Modernization was affordable, taking one week versus six months previously, and provided a dependable solution for inventory integration. The customer plans to similarly upgrade her app for Poshmark and explore new marketplaces.
