The objective was to create an engaging and immersive augmented reality (AR) football game that provides a realistic and enjoyable simulation experience for football lovers. With AR technology we could increase user engagement through a highly interactive gaming environment. The game has to attract casual gamers and serious sports enthusiasts and has options for surprise gifts or other user engagement strategies like inviting friends to play.
One of the key challenges on the technical front was integrating augmented reality (AR) technology and this called for advanced programming and design skills. The gameplay has to move smoothly across a wide range of Android devices, so extensive testing is necessary to ensure no compatibility issues. The interface has to be extremely user-friendly to stand out from similar games in the market. Creating a realistic dribbling experience required precise motion tracking and physics simulation.
Softnotions developed Virtual Dribbler as an innovative augmented reality game. The game allowed players to simulate the sport in a realistic and immersive manner. The solution designed specifically for Android devices uses exciting AR technology to engage sports lovers. AR integration requires a ‘clean’ background for optimal gameplay. Players interact with the game by physically hitting the virtual ball with their foot, making sure it stays in play, while also collecting surprise gifts by hitting them during gameplay. Virtual Dribbler offers additional game balls through friend invitations or in-app purchases, although only three balls can be used per game session.
