President-elect Donald Trump is reportedly building a new e-Voting system with Cardano (ADA) and Hedera (HBAR) at the forefront of the initiative.
A new speculation has surfaced from a highly reputed federal government source claiming a blockchain technology-based e-voting system is being developed. The source, who goes by the name Shawn, posted on X some critical internal updates about President-elect Donald Trump’s ambitions. Shawn claims to be a member of the World Economic Forum (WEF) and the United Nations (UN).
The reported speculation detailed that Trump and the upcoming Department of Government Efficiency are planning to develop a blockchain-based e-voting and identification system. This move aims to prevent fraudulent voter activities and mishandling of data during the next elections in 2028.
The post highlights two key compliances, ADA and HBAR, that will be the leading security benchmarks for the proposed system. The system is being built in collaboration with X, Cardano, Hyperledger, and the Hedera Protocol.
According to Shawn’s source, the proposed system will also push new legislation in the upcoming assembly sessions that mandates all states to implement the new e-voting platform. The legislation backs its ruling through Trump’s vision of improving election integrity in the United States of America.
Donald Trump is particularly motivated to push for development and ensure that the new system is in place before the elections of 2028, meaning that he has only 4 years to build, test, get approvals on, and deploy the e-voting platform. Hedera has already received a green signal from the State Department and the White House for its commitment to advancing democratic processes. Shawn noted that this might be the main reason why Hedera will be involved in the development process.
Cardano has a prior history of working with the state of Wyoming to build robust voting systems during previous elections. Cardano is now focused on building a decentralized identity system, which may extend support to Trump’s goals of preventing illegal immigration from neighboring countries. Trump is allegedly having active conversations with the founder of the Cardano blockchain, Charles Hoskinson, on the topic.
“This is the way to save elections. I called for an ‘Election Blockchain Task Force’ in 2021 to explore the same concept, but it got left out of state election integrity overhauls,” expressed Jake Hoffman, a Republican and chair of the National Young Republicans. If the air thickens around the new e-voting platform without much resistance, the next elections may be led by blockchain technology.
