Samsung launched its One UI 7 Beta version today, starting its rollout in Germany and with the Galaxy S24 smartphone series.
For nearly a year, Samsung has been teasing the latest features accompanying its new One UI 7 beta version update. Even though Samsung blames its delays on unprecedented development delays, users have become frustrated enough. To address the long-awaited frustration, Samsung has finally launched its One UI 7 beta version today.
For the time being, Samsung has made the latest beta version available only for EUB devices in the Germany region. The company opened registrations at midnight and will begin rolling out in Germany from tonight onwards. As confirmed by Samsung’s Support page announcement, the new update will appear only on the Galaxy S24 series except for the FE versions.
The process is not simple either for users in Germany who are curious if their device qualifies for the beta program. Users will have to verify their variant using their IMEI number to check if they can receive the update immediately. Samsung has also declared that it will begin rolling out the One UI 7 beta version in more regions and for more device variants.
Though many users touted the latest update as iOS 18’s horizontal duplicate, it clearly brings some fresh elements unique to its brand aesthetics. The update brings massive changes to the control center, offers revamped animations, and a fresh media player UX. The control center now features an impressive blur effect. The new media player shows a renewed album art on the lock screen and the overall animations are much smoother than ever.
Though the beta version has been rolled out for S24 series devices, the stable version will roll out only from the Galaxy S25 series onwards. This will most likely happen next year as Samsung takes 10-12 months to optimize and finalize its beta versions before releasing their commercial versions. Users who don’t qualify for the beta update can check them out through online reviewers, many of whom have already received the update and shared their first reviews as well.
