Netflix is introducing a new Netflix Moments feature on iOS devices, which allows users to share favorite scenes with friends and on social media.
Netflix has been the preferred platform to watch the latest movies and web series for 282.7 million paid subscribers globally. Since the platform introduced account-sharing restrictions, the conversations around key moments and scenes among friends took a third-party turn. To bring back the social engagement factor, Netflix Moments has been launched on iOS devices and will be debuting on Android devices in the coming weeks.
Whether it is the Bridgerton show’s dramatic suspense revelation or Black Mirror’s awe-provoking scene, users can now easily share those moments with their family and friends and on major social media platforms like Facebook, X, and Instagram. The streaming giant has always prevented screen recording and screenshotting content, something that users often do to capture the key moments of the content they watch.
Remember the various How ya doin’ dialogs by Joey Tribbiani? You can now share them all with non-Netflix users, revisit them whenever you want, and relive the moments on demand without searching through the entire episode. All you need to do is tap on the Moments button on the bottom right of the screen while watching any content, and it will automatically be saved to the My Netflix tab.
The best part about it is that users you share it with do not have to have a Netflix account to access the content. The update also simplifies sharing formats to support all major platforms like WhatsApp and other messaging platforms to enhance the reach of the new feature.
The Netflix Moments feature has already gained popularity, owing to the impressive feature advertisement featuring global celebrities, including Olympic gymnast Simone Biles and Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B. The promotional video uses some of the most iconic moments from Netflix titles like Squid Game, Stranger Things, and Bridgerton.
The platform has also stated that more features to facilitate streaming and sharing will be rolled out soon. Bringing major engagement enhancements will surely boost Netflix’s ranking among the top streaming apps online.
