Elon Musk has recently declared a few major updates that will change the user experience on his X platform.
Elon Musk had bought Twitter and renamed it to X under his aegis. Even though Twitter has been around for over a decade, the world now knows the platform as one of Musk’s products. As the leading spokesperson of the platform across all major media channels, Elon Musk recently announced a major update to X, which will help small users get higher reach and engagement.
Smaller creators have been restricted from showing their posts to people who don’t follow them. Earlier, the For You section of the user feed showed posts from popular public accounts and the people they followed. Now, the new update will show smaller creator accounts’ posts to the general public in the For You section. The algorithm will find the right audience type to help them increase their follower base and engagement.
The feature will be free of cost, as most of the updates on the platform recently have focused on enhancing only the premium user experience. Over the past few months, Elon Musk rolled out multiple premium features, including support for long-form posts by increasing the character limit by up to 25,000 for text, two hours of video content, and an ad-revenue sharing program.
These premium features have helped many creators grow tremendously on the platform over the last few months but have also put the smaller creators in the back seat. The latest update may help them grow their follower base.
Musk has also launched his new AI chatbot, Grok, which will integrate its capabilities into the platform and enhance user experience even further. As the chatbot is built primarily by using the data of X, it is better informed on the latest developments than alternative bots from the ChatGPT network.
On the contrary, other new platforms are also rapidly upgrading themselves. Threads, the latest social media platform launched by Meta as a rival to X, has released its new major update as well. Earlier, the users had to delete their Instagram to delete the Threads account. Now, the platform has detached the accounts and does not need this step to delete Threads. It was a big roadblock for users who wanted to test the social media platform before finalizing their journey on it.
