Apple released the public beta 1 version of iOS 18.3 today, offering a preview of the upcoming features in the next software update.
Apple has once again underwhelmed its users with the latest release of iOS 18.3 public beta 1 version. Though the release is only available for developers enrolled in Apple’s beta software program, their reviews have spread like wildfire to general users waiting for the next big AI update.
iOS 18.3 beta first arrived on Monday as a developer-exclusive launch but remained light on new features regarding AI capabilities or system upgrades. The new version brings small tweaks in the UI most general users won’t even notice. The only valuable update brought with the latest release version is robot vacuum support in the Home app.
One of the reasons why Apple may have kept the latest developer beta light on new introductions is the upcoming holiday season. As most of Apple’s teams, including its key engineers, will be on an extended break, the problems that may arrive with iOS 18.3 beta 1 will not be resolved as fast as they could. That’s why the update consists of major experiential upgrades and is not related to technological capabilities.
Considering the loss users may have to experience due to a lack of resources to address abrupt errors or bugs, this move is not so bad afterall. It also indicates that the beta 2 release scheduled for rollout after the Christmas and New Year vacation period will come with some big updates to regain positive impressions from the community.
The biggest highlights came with the first launch of 18.3 last week, including ChatGPT integration, Genmoji, powerful virtual upgrades on macOS devices, and more. Since then, every beta upgrade has almost been ignorable enough. The next big eye-opener will most likely arrive in March next year.
