iOS 18 May Officially Launch In Mid September 2024

Apple has released the two official versions of the latest iOS 18, with the public release version anticipated to be released in Mid-September.

Apple has created the biggest anticipation of the year by announcing the release of iOS 18. Considering the historical pattern, the official public release may take place between September 16 and 23. Apple has consistently supported each iPhone firmware for six years from its release date. 

That’s why All the iPhone models above XR and the second generation iPhone SE will support the iOS 18 version. Simply put, the iPhones with iOS 16.4 are eligible for the most anticipated upgrade of the year.

While the global audience waits for the official public release, Apple has made the Beta and Developer Beta versions available for worldwide access. Users with iOS 16.4 and later versions can directly download the Developer Beta and Public Beta versions of iOS 18 from their settings. Earlier, users had to download the upgrade file from the official Apple website links provided by the company. This accessibility option is available for the iOS 18 versions as well.

As part of the continuous shift to new technologies, Apple will bring Apple Intelligence, an AI ecosystem, to the iOS 18 compatible models. While the latest iPhones and iPads will provide maximum compatibility and battery efficiency using the Apple AI, the previous models may face slightly lower speeds.

According to Apple’s historical launch pattern, the public release version of iOS 18 will be in the middle of September. The previous launches share an average gap of four to five weeks after the first official developer beta release. The list is mentioned below:

  • iOS 17 public beta 1: July 12, 2023 (Developer beta release - June 5)
  • iOS 16 public beta 1: July 11, 2022 (Developer beta release - June 6)
  • iOS 15 public beta 1: June 30, 2021 (Developer beta release - June 7)
  • iOS 14 public beta 1: July 9, 2020 (Developer beta release - June 22)
  • iOS 13 public beta 1: June 24, 2019 (Developer beta release - June 3)

According to the official note by Apple, “iOS 18 makes the iPhone even more personal, with deeper customization, new ways to connect, easier-to-find photos and support for Apple Intelligence.” Some of the most interesting iOS 18.4 Features include an all-new Siri, OS-level integrations of AI capabilities, and many more features that make the user experience seamless. Users who want to try the iOS 18 version without the finishing touches can try the Beta versions. Those who want to gain access to an officially polished version with minimum risks will have to wait till September third week.
