The fourth beta version of Android 15 was released today. Android users can enroll in the Android Beta for Pixel program or update it over the air.
Google has been testing its latest Android 15 OS for months now. Today, three months after the first one rolled out, Google announced its fourth and final version of Android 15 beta. Google Pixel users who want to try it can enroll on the Android Beta for Pixel program and download and install the Android 15 beta over the air. Those running the previous version releases can directly update it to the latest Android 15 beta 4.
Android 15 brings exciting new services and improvements to the Android OS that focus on productivity, privacy, communication, performance, quality of navigation, and security. The new Android 15 allows better support for developers and content creators as well.
For now, only the Pixel series phones are compatible with Android 15. This includes Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 8a, Pixel Fold, and Pixel Tablet. Android users outside this list can download an Android Emulator to try how Android 15 performs on phones, tablets, and large-screen gadgets.
Google has also partnered with a few Android device makers, such as Honor, iQOO, Lenovo, Nothing, OnePlus, OPPO, Realme, Sharp, Tecno, Vivo, and Xiaomi, to test the latest Android 15 beta version. Users of these brand devices will need to check their eligibility on their respective brand websites.
Users who are shifting from Android 14 are recommended to back up their data before they commence Android 15 beta download. It is critical to ensure this step is followed by those who might downgrade to Android 14 after trying Android 15 beta, as the entire data will get wiped out.
Some key new introductions in Android 15 include predictive back gestures, edge-to-edge reinforcement, improved DND rules, and rich vibrations for incoming notifications by channel. There are many more features in testing phase which will roll out gradually after the first stable version release sometime soon.
