Google has rolled out its Gemini AI-powered replies for Gmail users to help create meaningful and detailed responses faster.
Gmail users on Android and iOS can now enjoy a smarter and faster way of forming responses to work and other Emails. Google Gemini in Gmail has now been upgraded to feature smart contextual reply assistance for its users worldwide. The new AI-powered feature was rolled out yesterday after its official announcement at the I/O 2024 event.
The smart reply of Gemini AI is designed to provide detailed responses by analyzing the content of an Email and suggesting responses tailored to each conversation. The AI chatbot provides three smart replies in one sitting, placed in a carousel format. Each response is accompanied by a line that notes the high-level direction of each generated option and how they are unique.
Users can long-press on each response to get a quick preview of the text and tap to insert suggestions, including greetings, modifications to the body content, and other edits. The current feature rollout is available only in English and is made available to paid Gemini users only.
The paid subscription can either be Google One AI Premium or Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, or Education Premium. As the features began rolling out yesterday, users across countries may have to wait for some time to get the updates.
Contextual replies work seamlessly with the summarize feature and now work on individual emails instead of the entire thread. It also adds more capabilities to the Gmail Q&A feature, which is the desktop side panel for mobile devices.
Along with this, Gmail is rolling out many more new features, including the blue verified sender checkmarks. Gemini’s powerful LLMs now add an extra security layer to Google Workspace. Gmail has also stopped showing the Promotion and Update category's subject lines on Android mobile devices. The way Google is smartly integrating Gemini across its individual and work platforms, it will surely gain a reputation in the top ranks of AI chatbots.
