Donald Trump Posts Taylor Swift’s AI Deepfake Supporting Him

Date: August 20, 2024

Donald Trump recently posted a fake AI-generated photo of Taylor Swift endorsing the ex-US President and the Republican party.

Donald Trump and Taylor Swift have long political and public welfare disagreements. Taylor Swift openly endorsed Kamala Harris and her democratic party in the 2020 elections. However, Donald Trump recently posted a picture of Taylor Swift on his social media handle, Truth Social, that depicts her endorsing the ex-US President himself.

Donald Trump posted a series of images that appear to be AI-generated. Donald's posts in the last week showed multiple pictures of either Taylor Swift supporting him or her fans doing the same. According to reports, these photos were not generated by Donald Trump and were taken from online social media channels.

One post had a caption reading ‘I Accept,’ with a series of Taylor Swift images. Another showed her fans, also known as the Swifties, wearing a T-shirt with ‘Swifties For Trump’ written on it. Another reposted image mimicking a World War I recruitment poster replaced Uncle Sam’s face with Taylor Swift and stated, ‘Taylor wants you to vote for Donald Trump.’ The most viral fake post showed Taylor in a Red, White, and Blue dress with the caption, “Taylor Swift Wants You To Vote For Donald Trump.”

All these controversial posts are coming to light amid the ongoing US elections in 2024. Many of these posts have been appropriately labeled as Satire or AI-generated, wherever applicable. This incident showcases the immense potential of misusing Artificial Intelligence during elections. The world-renowned female singer openly endorsed the Democratic party during the 2020 elections and clearly criticized Donald Trump and his party.

However, Swift has not publicly showcased her support for any party during this year’s elections. Recently, Swift canceled three concert shows in Vienna due to a critical security threat from ISIS. The local police have also arrested two people as part of planning the attacks backed by the Islamic State group.

Consumer group Public Citizen has alleged Donald Trump for spreading misinformation using Artificial Intelligence. The group said in a public statement, “The potential harms to our society that could result from such misinformation, including abuses of our elections, are wide-reaching and immensely damaging.” While these controversies run wild, Taylor Swift is set to create £300 million for London’s economy as it hosted more concerts than any other city.
