The Made By Google 2024 event concluded yesterday and brought to light some exciting new updates and flagship features.
The time for rumors around Google’s next big reveal is over, as the Made By Google 2024 event concluded yesterday. Google has made a range of announcements that cover its biggest hardware event of the year. It includes Google Pixel 9’s new lineup and multiple impressive AI integrations across upcoming and existing devices.
Google has also made big revelations around dramatic updates in the Nest, Pixel Watch, and Pixel Buds. Let’s dive into the details of what unfolded at Google yesterday.
Gemini Live is one of Google's most powerful new introductions. Experts claim it is better than talking to Sir, but it still needs improvement. The Live voice assistant is capable of not just producing answers but can also perform tasks on users’ behalf. Google is bringing AI to the core of its key applications and on-device tasks, including scanning files and folders and providing conversational assistance.
Gemini Live will be available to all users who have subscribed to Gemini Advanced. The AI assistant can be interrupted in the middle to refine the output or add more layers to the question. Its response time is impressively fast, but the hallucinations are depressingly evident. As of now, 14 new AI features have been added to Google Pixel phones.
A range of new Pixel phones are about to be launched this year, with extra durability, UX upgrades, Super Actua displays, and sharper low-light picture captures. That’s not the best part, though. All the new Pixel phones will get AI embedded in the core, powered by a powerful Google Tensor G4 silicon chipset. The phones in line for release later this year are Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
Google has also revamped the Pixel Watch to provide a brighter, bigger, and fine-tuned performance for fitness enthusiasts. It has also announced the arrival of Pixel Buds Pro 2, which are designed to perform with Gemini. New security layers have also been added to safeguard sensitive user information from leaking through any AI hiccup. If these new arrivals work fine in impressing the Google fanbase, it can be a big breakthrough for the tech giant into consumer AI products.
