Apple Intelligence will tag along with the iPhone 16 and iOS 18 launch, but the company may not charge for the AI features for the next three years.
Apple Intelligence is one of the most anticipated launches in the world, not only for the Apple community but for all mobile device users. The new introduction will include Siri, Genmoji, Image Playground, and many more added layers to Apple’s stock applications. The much-awaited AI launch by Apple was announced during the WWDC event of 2024, and at the same time, eager to know the charges that come along with it.
Many analysts have published their predictions online regarding the charges Apple may levy for its Apple Intelligence features. The average concluded price point is $20/month. But Apple users may not need to worry about it for the next three years, as experts claim the company won’t charge for the AI features until then.
Mark Gurman has come forward to address the online speculations about Apple Intelligence features and their associated charges. He said that the company will charge for the AI features, and the amount will depend on how much AI is put in place for a particular product. He also clarified that these charges may not begin for some time, and users across the globe may not worry about them coming anytime soon.
Considering Apple's current market position, the company has been lagging behind the top players in the game for over a year. However, the company’s priority is user privacy and data safety, which has led to its recent cut ties with one of the top AI chatbot companies, OpenAI.
The best scenario for Apple to launch Apple Intelligence would be free of charge, as it would speed up the adoption and habit formation of the new artificial intelligence features. Based on Mark Gurman’s remarks on the paid charges, it looks like the company is in sync with the experts’ opinions of keeping things free until they become an integral part of everyday life.
