Launched in July, the AI-powered death calculator has recently gained virality, spiking the downloads from mere thousands to over 125K globally.
Death Clock, a new AI-powered life expectancy calculator, has gone viral on the internet for its ability to predict peoples’ actual date of death. Though the AI-powered tool was launched in July, it recently witnessed a sharp download spike, indicating user attraction towards such drastic information.
The application uses age, height, weight, daily calorie intake, exercise levels, and more to predict the death date. Brent Franson, the developer of the app, stated that the AI-powered death calculator is trained on a dataset of over 1200 life expectancy studies that covered nearly 53 million participants worldwide.
The Death Clock has over 1.25 lakh downloads and reflects a pretty significant improvement on the standard life-table expectations. The app offers access to a shocking concept through the concept of a ‘fond farewell’ death-day card featuring the Grim Reaper. The most shocking part is that the app has gained ranks in the health and fitness category on respective app stores.
“Have you ever asked yourself 'when will I die?', our advanced life expectancy calculator will accurately* predict your death date for you depending on where you live, how much you smoke and your lifestyle to show your own death clock countdown. To predict your death date, simply input your date of birth, sex, smoking habits, your BMI and the country you live in. If you don't know your BMI simply use the BMI calculator form,” the app reads.
The app’s developer has expressed a strong motivation toward improving the lifestyle of people through contrasting data like the predicted death day. That’s why, though the app provides the predicted death day for free, it has a paid gateway to allow access to show a clock counting down to the estimated death’s date and time.
The advanced algorithm is based on extensive medical studies and health data, which the AI uses to create personalized suggestions to improve the user’s lifestyle. The end goal of the app is to motivate its users to adopt better life choices, which keep extending the death date according to their improvement inputs. The death clock, if left out of the controversial light, can become one of the top AI chatbots in the health and fitness category.
