Description

As part of our work for the Hungarian subsidiaries of the Mirbest international group, a leader in B2B food trade, we developed several advanced ecommerce platforms, and one of these was for HELIT Kft.

Operating in the wholesale FMCG sector (food, drugstore, and household products), the company aimed to increase online sales and saw the need to incorporate new functions and create a new design.

Solutions

Legacy System Integration

  • Developed custom middleware to connect HELIT’s legacy IT system with the Logishop B2B platform, ensuring seamless data exchange and compatibility.

Dynamic Pricing Implementation

  • Enhanced the Logishop platform with a tailored pricing engine to accommodate HELIT’s partner-specific, dynamically changing pricing structures, discounts, and delivery-date-based pricing.

Sector-Specific Features

  • Incorporated unique FMCG features such as countdown timers for order deadlines, time slot delivery notifications, and pre-order functionalities to meet the sector’s specific needs.

Order Synchronization Across Channels

  • Designed the platform to aggregate and synchronize data from both online and offline orders, providing a unified view of all transactions.

Improved Logistics Planning

  • Introduced weight calculation tools and delivery slot indicators to help users plan their orders while enabling better logistics management.

Debt Management System

  • Implemented a feature to alert and restrict customers with outstanding payments during login, ensuring transparent debt communication.

Custom UX Design

  • Developed a modern, user-friendly interface tailored to HELIT’s branding, including bespoke elements like deadline counters and a seamless shopping experience.

Online Catalogue Integration

  • Used the Publitas plugin to integrate scrollable online catalogues, allowing users to browse products easily within the platform.

Impact

The updated HELIT online store has been met with positive feedback from users, with the revamped design causing no interruptions to the ordering process. Customers particularly value features like the favorites list, quick search functionality, detailed delivery information through the deadline counter, and the clear presentation of minimum order quantities. Additionally, having access to the full product portfolio, complete with detailed descriptions and high-quality images, has been a significant benefit.

Currently, one-third of the nearly 2,000 active users place their orders through the B2B platform. Notably, a substantial number of customers who previously relied on phone orders have transitioned to using the online platform, highlighting its ease of use and effectiveness.
